Player and coach licences before tip: what BUCS checks

BUCS expects licences to be presentable before each match. Missing paperwork is a fixture risk, not an admin afterthought.

Under BUCS basketball regulations, players and coaches must hold a valid licence issued via the relevant NGB. Before each match, teams must present licences of everyone who will participate. In Premier Tier and National Championship matches, a missing valid licence can mean that person cannot take part. In other fixtures, participation may still be noted with later sanctions if licensing was not in place.

That is why a photo in a group chat is not a system. Coaches need a living list of who is licensed, whose expiry is close, and who is on tonight’s sheet.
