Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Run5 mobile application and related websites (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

Run5 provides basketball club tools for university, local league, and tournament teams, including roster, events, chat, playbook, notifications, and team payment features (such as season fees and payment requests). Features may change as we improve the product.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you use the Service on behalf of a team or organisation, you confirm you have authority to do so. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Coaches who add players under 18 must ensure they have appropriate parental or guardian consent where required.

3. Team administrators

If you create a team or are granted coach/admin rights, you are responsible for:

Team owners who delete their account and confirm team deletion remove the team for all members. Prefer transferring ownership before deleting an owner account if you want the team to continue.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may remove content, suspend access, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the Service or other users.

5. Payments

Coaches may set season fees, bank transfer details, and payment requests. Players may mark payments as sent; coaches confirm as appropriate. If card payments are enabled, they are processed by Stripe. Run5 does not store full card numbers.

When a player pays by card or Apple Pay, they pay the amount advertised by the team (for example the season fee or a payment request). Run5 does not add a surcharge on top of that advertised amount. Run5 charges the team a platform fee of 2.4% + 20p per digital payment, capped at £3.00, which is deducted from the team’s Stripe payout before the club receives funds. Bank transfers arranged by the team do not include this platform fee. Stripe’s own processing costs are included in that fee model and are not charged separately to the player.

Bank details shown in the app are provided by your team’s coach. Run5 is not a bank and is not responsible for incorrect bank details entered by a coach, or for disputes between teammates about whether a payment was made. Resolve payment disputes with your team organisers.

Where Stripe Connect is used for payouts, the team owner or admin must accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement and these Terms before setup. Stripe’s terms are at https://stripe.com/connect-account/legal.

6. Run5 Pro subscriptions (App Store)

Optional Run5 Pro features (for example Live Game, Playbook, licences dashboard, match sheet, club finance, and season intel) are sold as auto-renewable In-App Purchases through Apple:

Price is shown in the app and on the App Store for your country or region (for example £6.99/month and £69.99/year in the UK). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically. You can manage or cancel in your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Unused portions of a free trial (if offered) are forfeited when you purchase. These App Store subscriptions are separate from team season fees paid to your club.

Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/

7. Content and intellectual property

You retain rights to content you upload (for example photos, playbook files, messages). You grant Run5 a licence to host and display that content as needed to operate the Service for your team.

Run5 and its branding, software, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the Service except as allowed by law.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on providers such as Google Firebase and Stripe. Their availability and terms may affect features. We are not responsible for third-party outages beyond our reasonable control.

9. Availability

We aim to keep Run5 available but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, or events outside our control may cause downtime. We may add, change, or remove features.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or meet every team’s needs.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Run5 is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, or for losses arising from team mismanagement, incorrect roster/payment data entered by users, or disputes between team members. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations) will continue after termination.

12. Privacy

How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version at this URL and change the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms, except where mandatory law requires otherwise.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence require otherwise. Courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction.
