England Basketball licences, BUCS eligibility and match sheets

Affiliation and licensing are fixture rules, not profile decoration. Run5 keeps numbers, expiry and match sheets ready before tip, not during warm up.

If you play competitive basketball in England, licensing is part of the operating system. Basketball England club affiliation and player registration sit behind league and many structured pathways. For BUCS basketball, institutions and playing entities must affiliate to the relevant NGB, and players need a valid NGB licence before they are fielded, including as unused substitutes. Coaches on the sideline likewise need valid licensing under the BUCS sport specific framework.

That means matchday is too late to discover a missing number. Yet many clubs still keep licences in email attachments, paper printouts or a shared drive nobody updated after Christmas.

What goes wrong without a system

How Run5 solves it: licence number and expiry on each profile, a coach licences dashboard with reminders, and match sheet PDFs with names and licences. Eligibility becomes part of roster ops, not a separate panic.

Amateur to university: same need, different pressure

Grassroots clubs need clean paperwork for league and events while volunteers change. University teams need to clear BUCS and NGB expectations while captains rotate yearly. Run5 gives both a living register tied to the people who will actually tip off.
